The Gang of Eight Liars

Everything you need to know about the so-called “Gang of 8″ Senate immigration bill is this: Obama supports it.

If this bill was good for America, Obama would be against it.

If this was a bill that any conservative could honestly support, Harry Reid would have killed it in committee and Chuck Schumer would not bebegging people to support it, and the fact that 30 Republicans voted for cloture is profoundly disturbing.

Supporters of the Senate bill are lying, because if they told the truth about it, there would be a firestorm of outrage. And because we know that they are lying about it,  as Michelle Malkin explains, it’s important not to listen to what they say, but to watch what they do:

The official White House operating policy is: No illegal alien left behind. “Smarter enforcement” means no enforcement.
Remember: Exactly one year ago this week, the president announced he would halt all deportations and start granting work permits to an estimated 2.1 million illegal aliens who entered the country as children.
This blanket amnesty through administrative non-enforcement has been plagued by questions of fraud from the get-go.

Read the whole thing. Every word spoken or written in favor of this wretched legislative monstrosity is a lie, including any claim that it would require immigrants to learn English:

[ProEnglish Executive Director, Bob Vandervoort said:] “Contrary to what the Gang of 8 says, S. 744 has no requirement for illegal immigrants to learn English to get work permits or amnesty. They can renew their work permits indefinitely. They only have to show some knowledge of English IF they apply for green cards after 10 and a half years of residency! In the meantime, taxpayers will be paying for translations and interpreters. It’s time for the Gang of 8 to stop the lies.”
“For at least ten years and perhaps for their entire lives, this huge new group of predominantly non-English speaking, former illegal immigrants will create a huge new demand for costly government services in their native language, further exacerbating the dangerous and growing division of the United States into separate cultural and linguistic communities,” Vandervoort elaborates. “This would be an unprecedented calamity for our nation’s unity,” he said.

What part of “NO AMNESTY” is so hard to understand?

UPDATENo intelligent person is deceived by this “bipartisanship”:

On Tuesday, the Senate voted 84-15 — with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell among 30 Republican senators voting “yes” — to bring the bill to the floor for debate. Tea Party favorite, Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, was among the GOP senators declaring support for the controversial legislation. . . .
Rubio told David Drucker of the Washington Examiner that he is working with fellow Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah to craft an amendment that would strengthen border enforcement provisions in the bill. However, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, has already signaled that he will oppose stronger enforcement.
The “Gang of Eight” bill was slammed this week by two influential conservative columnists.
If the GOP Is This Stupid, It Deserves to Die,” Ann Coulter headlined her Wednesday column, saying Republican supporters of the legislation “are devoting all their energy to slightly increasing their share of the Hispanic vote while alienating everyone else in America.” And the bill was also criticized by Michelle Malkin.
“Suicidal Republicans have supported illegal alien amnesties dating back to the Reagan era,” Malkin said in her Thursday syndicated column, which concluded: “Trust them? Hell, no. There’s only one course for citizens who believe in upholding the Constitution and protecting the American dream: Stop them.”

Revenge Of The Anchor Babies: Whites To Be Minority In Children Under Age 5 By Next Year…

And we’re about to legalize another 11 million?

Via Daily Mail:

For the first time, America’s racial and ethnic minorities now make up about half of the under-5 age group and will be a majority by this year or next.

That’s according to new census numbers that show a faster shift than expected toward a minority-majority, one where whites will be in the minority by 2043.

The new estimates also show that, for the fist time in more than a century, the death rate for white Americans outnumbers the birth rate.

The Census Bureau reported earlier this year that non-white babies now outnumber white babies.

Fueled by immigration and high rates of birth, particularly among Hispanics, racial and ethnic minorities are now growing more rapidly in numbers than whites.

Based on current rates of growth, whites in the under-5 group are expected to tip to a minority this year or next, Thomas Mesenbourg, the Census Bureau’s acting director, said.

The government also projects that in five years, minorities will make up more than half of children under 18. Not long after, the total U.S. white population will begin an inexorable decline in absolute numbers, due to aging baby boomers.

This is What God Thinks of a “Gay” Nation:

Romans 1:21-27 New Living Translation

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Romans 1:28 KJV

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

And finally Paul says this in Romans 1:32:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Obama Tells LGBT Crowd He Sees A Tidal Wave Of Gayness Sweeping The Nation, “From Minnesota To Maryland, From The U.S. Senate To The NBA”…

All aboard the rainbow express, next stop, fabulous!

Via The Hill:

President Obama told attendees at a LGBT Pride Month celebration that the U.S. needs to get marriage equality “done now,” but that he believed the nation had reached a “turning point” on gay rights.

“We’re not going to have to wait that long,” Obama said. “From Minnesota to Maryland, from the U.S. Senate to the NBA, it’s clear we’ve reached a turning point.”

The president said that progress could be traced “from the courage of those who stood up.”

“Eventually america gets it right. that doesn’t mean we can be patient,” Obama said. “We know from our own history that change happens because we push it to.”

The president ticked off a number of accomplishments benefiting the gay community during his first term, including ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and expanding protections for HIV-positive individuals under his signature health care plan. He also urged the Senate to pass bipartisan legislation restricting workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.

State Department Has Hired Agents With Criminal Records, Memo Reveals – New York Post

The State Department has hired an alarming number of law-enforcement agents with criminal or checkered backgrounds because of a flawed hiring process, a stunning memo obtained by The Post reveals.

The background problems are severe enough that many of the roughly 2,000 agents in State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security can play only limited roles in agency efforts to police bad conduct and prosecute wrongdoers.

The problems in the bureau are the latest revelation in an exploding scandal that also involves accusations that members of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s security detail and those of the US ambassador to Belgium solicited prostitutes overseas.

.

A whistleblower charges that State tried to cover up multiple scandals by removing them from an inspector general’s report.

Alabama Housewife Speaks Truth to Congress

June 6, 2013
Suffer not the old King under any name!: “I am not here as a serf or vassal. I am not begging my lords for mercy.”

“I am not here as a serf or vassal. I am not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born free American woman, wife, mother and citizen. And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place. It’s not your responsibility to look out for my well-being, and to monitor my speech. It’s not your right to assert an agenda. Your post, the post that you occupy, exists to preserve American liberty. You’ve sworn to perform that duty. And you have faltered.” — Becky Gerritson of the Wetumpka Tea Party, testifying today before the House Ways and Means Committee about abuse by the IRS.

Howso’ great their clamour, whatsoe’er their claim, Suffer not the old King under any name!

Here is naught unproven—here is naught to learn. It is written what shall fall if the King return.

He shall mark our goings, question whence we came, Set his guards about us, as in Freedom’s name.

He shall take a tribute, toll of all our ware; He shall change our gold for arms—arms we may not bear.

He shall break his judges if they cross his word; He shall rule above the Law calling on the Lord.

He shall peep and mutter; and the night shall bring Watchers ‘neath our window, lest we mock the King—

Hate and all division; hosts of hurrying spies; Money poured in secret, carrion breeding flies.

Strangers of his counsel, hirelings of his pay, These shall deal our Justice: sell—deny—delay.

I Agree With Angry White Dude Who Lays It Out Very Well (Except I Don’t Live in Texas)

May 29, 2013

ANGRY WHITE DUDE HAS ZERO TRUST IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!

May 17, 2013 |

HOME SWEET HOME!

At this point, AWD doesn’t care what list the title of this post puts me on.  I’m pretty sure I’m already on a host of others already!  My sins?  Believing in the sanctity and wisdom of the Constitution and for having the cojones to call out the legions of corruptocrats in Washington for their nefarious, tyrannous deeds.

This didn’t start with Obama.  AWD has long distrusted anyone elected to federal office.  A Senate or House seat is an exclusive club where neither you nor I will ever be invited.  The charlatans who hold this office take good care of themselves and their friends.  They see themselves different, most assuredly better, than the rest of the hoi polloi proletariat back home in the districts or states.

Congress is an exclusive club for 535 pseudo-kings and queens who do just about anything they want without oversight.  The White House and their staffs get it much better.  They all travel just about anywhere they want, when they want and how they want with the yokels back home footing the bill.  The Kings of Congress vote themselves the right to involve themselves in insider trading when the same would put us lowly proles in prison.  They don’t have to worry about squeezing pennies on Social Security.  They voted themselves a cushy retirement plan that guarantees them and their spouses lifetime pensions at full salary with full benefits.  Even after serving one term.  While mandating ObamaCare for “the people,” the Kings and Queens of Congress exclude themselves and their staffs.  Congress is the most exclusive and rewarding club in the world and it is corrupt to the bone!

The revelations of IRS corruption come as no surprise to anyone who pays attention.  This excludes the “low-information” voters who live off of government welfare programs designed to perpetually buy their votes.  The entire system is corrupt beyond repair.  What our Founding Fathers feared 230-odd years has become full circle.  We are controlled by an army of King Georges who office in Washington, DC and suck the wealth out of the dwindling producers in America.

Today we have an out of control bureaucracy that controls nearly every aspect of our lives.  Unelected governmental agencies like the IRS and EPA can ruin our lives at their pleasure.  Enemies lists are common in the White House.  Unconstitutional spying on American citizens has destroyed the Fourth Amendment.  Muslim terrorists are allowed into the country to explode us while living on welfare!  We borrow $3 billion each day to pay for all this BS!  How can a country so stupid and/or corrupt survive?  It can’t!

100 years ago, Congress was different.  American patriots who owned farms or businesses would sacrifice a few years at home to serve their country in public office.  They stayed a few years and then returned home to work.  There weren’t over-the-top pensions and payoffs from lobbyists.  These men served their country because they believed in the American Dream and Constitutional values.  They were patriots.

Corruptocrats in office today have designed laws to keep them in office until they are wheeled out dead.  The only politician AWD can think of who has left Congress before dying or recognizing that they would not win reelection is former Senator Kay Bailout Hutchison of Texas.  She only left the Senate because she could make more money as a lobbyist calling on her “good friends!”  Other corruptcocrats remain until they are room temperature squeezing out the last few seconds of corrupt money and power they can get from their office.

Can anyone forget the pitiful sight of Robert Byrd being wheeled in on a gurney to cast his vote for ObamaCare?  Wussypants Republican and once Democrat geriatric Ralph Hall from Paris, Texas will turn 90 this term and has already announced he will run for reelection in 2014.  Why?  Because he would rather spend his last months on this planet living the life of a king rather than spend time with his great-great-great-great-great grandchildren regaling fond memories of the Gettysburg Address.

AWD knows a lot of Texas Congressmen.  Most of them say the right things and vote the right way most of the time.  I trust ZERO of them!  Ted Cruz would be the closest I’d come to letting any Congressman in my house.  But he’s only been in Washington a few months.

AWD believes the Tea Party Movement failed because it was 30 years too late.  It’s principles and values were good at the inception of the movement in 2009 because patriots came together for the right reasons and had great results.  The election of 2010 saw 63 big-spending Democrats sent home.  We wanted to save America.  But once people learned they could make a buck off the movement or get on television, the knives came out.  Friends became enemies and egos contaminated the last, best hope to save the country.  Lawsuits and backstabbing became common practice.  The leftist mainstream propaganda successfully marginalized the movement as racist while the wussypants Republicans, while paying lip service to the Tea Party, worked to marginalize the movement.  Both succeeded.

In 2009, AWD had some hope for the salvation of the United States of America.  After Obama’s reelection last November, AWD is waiting for the entire collapse of the federal government.  It WILL come.  I was Dagny Taggart.  I’m now John Galt.  I have no illusions America can survive as a constitutional republic with an openly socialist Democrat Party and a cowardly, corrupt, wussypants Republican Party in Washington.  We know the mission of Democrats is to destroy the country but are you willing to count on John “Boo Hoo” Boehner and Mitch “Turtle-Head” McConnell to rescue us?  I refuse to play that game.  Especially when the Republican ranks are filled with corruptocrat kings like McCain, Graham, Flake, Rubio, Collins, Alexander and the rest of their ilk!

Those of us who can see realize the corrupt agenda of the kings and queens in Washington.  It is total control over the American people.  We see the main agendas of Republicans and Democrats in Washington this very moment to be flooding America with unskilled, dependent illegal aliens and granting them citizenship while destroying the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms for the proletariat.  Why?  Because both political parties are corrupt and both are involved in the game of creeping tyranny.

As AWD has written, I don’t really care if I live in a country that has member states like Massachusetts, Vermont, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, California, etc.  They can all go to their own socialist hell.  I don’t care what happens to them.  I desire to live in a country where tried and true constitutional values are law, where corruption is held to a minimum and the purveyors of such end up behind bars, and I can keep more of the wealth I produce.  I want to live in a country where corruptocrats are unable to buy votes of welfare moochers or illegals by throwing out welfare programs.  Where hard work and performance is rewarded and not penalized.  Where political correctness does not exist.

I want to live in the Republic of Texas.  And I do.  And I will.  Lock and load and Molon Labe!

Obama Runs Away from the War on Terrorism

 By Alan Caruba

“You may not be interested in war, but war may be interested in you.” — Leon Trotsky
If you think about the presidents who we remember and honor the most, it is those who faced war and rallied the nation to victory. Our first president, George Washington, sustained the Revolutionary War for eight long years against daunting odds, including a Continental Congress that often provided little support for the men under his command that were fighting to create a new, free nation.
Washington’s reputation in war and peace is the reason that the Constitution designates the President as Commander-in-Chief. He was so highly regarded for his conduct of the Revolution that the Founders concluded that future presidents had to be free to wage war, but only after Congress declared that a state of war existed.
America, however, has not formally passed a declaration of war since WWII and then because it had been declared against us first. Since then wars have often been fought under the sanction given by the United Nations as was the case in the Korean conflict and the two Gulf wars, an erosion of our national sovereignty.
Lincoln is revered for having preserved the Union during the bloodiest conflict this nation ever fought. Franklin D. Roosevelt earned his place in our history for mobilizing the nation prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, assisting Great Britain prior to entering the World War II, and then pursuing an aggressive policy to defeat the Axis nations.
Quite a few of our presidents gained fame in various conflicts, from Washington to Grant to Eisenhower. Other presidents presided over wars both long and short.
In a speech on May 23, given ironically at the National Defense University, President Obama did his best to run away from war. His opposition to the war in Iraq, his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, and his efforts to close Guantanamo will likely be seen in the same way as the Clinton policies of the 1990s when Osama bin Laden declared war on the United States on behalf of al Qaeda and subsequently attacked the World Trade Towers twice, in 1993 and on September 11, 2001. Weakness always encourages aggression.
In an application of magical thinking, at the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan the entire U.S. military was instructed not to use the term “global war on terrorism”, replacing it instead with “overseas contingency.” The Obama administration has refused to identify the May 22nd murder of a British soldier on the streets of London by an Islamist as terrorism.
Obama spent his first term and now his second insisting that al Qaeda has been defeated despite ample evidence that it has not. He has never ceased to downplay any event that suggests we and the rest of the world are not engaged in a war with radical Islam.
The Benghazi scandal arose out of an effort to claim and cover-up that the attack was “spontaneous” and the result of an anti-Islam video despite the fact that it occurred onSeptember 11, 2012. Earlier, an attack on soldiers based at Fort Hood was declared “workplace violence.” The bombing in Boston was glossed over as a criminal act, not a terrorist act of war.
The absurdity and the danger of not describing the many instances of the Islamic jihad is a failure of major proportions and not being willing to take preemptive action against its perpetrators suggests it will grow, not diminish, and not cease to threaten the homeland and the world.
In a scathing May 24 analysis of his speech, “President Obama is Tired of Fighting Terrorism”, the Heritage Foundation said that “even as new fronts in the war on terrorism sprang up, the Administration continued to argue that it was winning” despite the Benghazi attack, despite the Boston bombing, despite the attacks in Afghanistan. Time and again Obama has said that the assassination of Osama bin Laden marked the end of al Qaeda and that the isolated drone attacks have reduced its ability to wage jihad. It has not, but Obama proposed scaling back the use of drones.
“The war of ideas,” said Heritage, “was completely banned from the Obama lexicon. Islamist terrorism became ‘violent extremism.’ Terrorism became ‘senseless violence.’ In 2011, however, Obama shifted course dramatically.”

“More than dumping the war of words, the White House signed off on a new counterterrorism strategy that amounted to running away from Iraq and Afghanistan as quickly as possible and limiting the offensive campaign to whacking top-level al Qaeda with drone strikes”, noting that “The new strategy was bound to fail, fighting the last war while al Qaeda evolved into a global insurgency that has spread from Pakistan to Nigeria.”

The Heritage analysis concluded that Obama “is sick of fighting. Unfortunately, America’s enemies are not.”
The buildup of the paramilitary strength of the Department of Homeland Security and its identification of patriots, veterans, and others critical of the Administration has led many Americans to believe it now exists less to protect Americans than to institute plans to impose a dictatorship.
Obama’s fear of attacks at home and conflicts abroad was reflected in his speech. “Unless we discipline our thinking, our definitions, our actions, we may be drawn into more wars we don’t need to fight, or continue to grant presidents unbound powers more suited for traditional armed conflicts between nation states.”
His Administration has already “defined” Islamic attacks to the point of not calling them Islamic attacks. His concern and reluctance to use the powers of the presidency to protect the nation ignores the new nature of war with a stateless entity called al Qaeda. Indeed, he wanted his war powers scaled back!
In his speech, Obama said “This war, like all wars, must end. That’s what history advises. That’s what our democracy demands.”
The Islamic jihad began in the seventh century and has not ended since then. Our democracy and the future of Western civilization depends on conducting a war to end the current aspects of it until today’s Muslims conclude that jihad as a religious duty is too painful to pursue. That’s how this war will end.

Laying Down My Pen

By on 5.23.13 @ 11:18PM

I’m putting journalism on hold and running for Congress. A fond farewell to The American Spectator.

When an opportunity comes to do something good, one must grab it.

At 2 p.m. central time Thursday afternoon in Mobile, word spread that U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner, a six-term Republican from a dark red district, would announce that he is resigning mid-term (Aug. 15) to take a big job with the University of Alabama system of colleges. He made the announcement at 4 p.m.

On the local 5 p.m. news, I announced that I intend to form a committee and expect to run for his seat.

I am a constitutional conservative—and an “opportunity society”conservative as well, hearkening back to the Reagan-Kemp era of prosperity and liberty. Free men and women, with free minds, in a free market, produce abundance and a vibrant society.

Readers of this site know I am a full spectrum conservative. Mostly libertarian on economics, firmly for a strong defense, and for traditional values.

I abhor racism and was a founding board member of the Louisiana Coalition Against Racism and Nazism, which defeated David Duke in the 1990s. I have a long record of volunteer service through churches and with educational foundations.

I am a movement conservative, with a Madisonian love of our constitutional system. And I love my adopted home of southern Alabama, which is developing into one of the greatest areas of growth in the country.

There will be much more to say in the coming weeks, and major endorsements to announce. But now I must set aside my cyber-pen forThe American Spectator, which has hosted me for seven years. I am honored to have been a part of this publication, which has enlightened and entertained the world of American letters for nearly half a century—and my thanks go to Bob and Wlady and to the whole team that does such a good job here. I also thank the readers for making this not just a magazine, but a conversation.

This is going to be a great adventure.

All of Europe is Going Down in Flames – They are Committing Cultural Suicide By Allowing mooslims to Take Them Over

Stockholm Continues to Burn

Now that we know how multiculturalism is working out in Britain, let’s check back with Sweden to see how it’s going there. When last we looked, Muslims were rioting again, attacking police and setting fire to anything that burns. As of last night, they are still at it:

Wednesday night saw more burning cars, smashed windows, and stone throwing at police in at least 15 suburbs around Stockholm, as the fourth night of riots swept the Swedish capital.

The unrest began shortly after 10pm in Husby, northwestern Stockholm where the riots began on Sunday night. Youths gathered in the town square, some of them masked.

Hagsätra in southern Stockholm came under fire at roughly the same time. A police patrol was attacked, and one officer was taken to hospital with serious injuries to the head.

By 2am, Stockholm’s fire service had attended 75-80 incidents across the city. Much of their work was delayed by youths throwing stones at them, meaning police were left to attend to the stone-throwers to allow the fire fighters access to the fires.

A restaurant went up in flames in Skogås, southern Stockholm. Police labelled the crime as aggravated arson.

In Rågsved, a police station was set on fire, with officers gathering young people in a police bus and escorting them away to other parts of the city.

Earlier in the week, the Religion of Peaceniks torched a nursery and a school. What else are welfare colonists supposed to do with their time, since earning a living is not required?

Europe is at the crossroads. It can reject political correctness, or it can die.

Eric Holder: “I Know Nothing!”

May 16, 2013

Eric Holder “seems to be proud of how little he knows.”

Says Dana Milbank.

“I don’t have a factual basis to answer the questions that you have asked, because I was recused,” the attorney general said.
On and on Holder went: “I don’t know. I don’t know. . . . I would not want to reveal what I know. . . . I don’t know why that didn’t happen. . . . I know nothing, so I’m not in a position really to answer.”…
But when the Justice Department undermines the Constitution, recusal is no excuse.

Ya Gotta Love Grandpas…. (From the email inbox)

John G. is 63 years old and owns a small business.  He’s a life-long republican and sees his dream of retiring next year has all but evaporated.  With the stock market crashing and new taxes coming his way, John assumes now that he will work to his dying day.
John has a granddaughter.  Ashley is a recent college grad.  She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants.  Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama.  After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over.
Having recently lost both roommates, Ashley ran short of cash, and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3-bedroom townhouse.  Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help.
Here is his reply:
Sweetheart, I received your request for assistance.  Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I’m sympathetic to your financial plight.  Unfortunately, times have changed.  With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth
a bold new economic plan of our own…”The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan.”  Let me explain.
Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers.  We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc.  We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon.
But the plan has changed.  Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly.  He says it is so he can give our hard-earned money to other people.  Do you know what this means, Ashley?  It means less for us, so we must cut back on many
business and personal expenses.
You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years?  The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit?  I had to let her go last week.  I can’t afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees.  Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle
the books.  We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income.
I’m also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse.  I called him at school this morning.  He already knows about it and he’s upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears.
That’s just the business side of things.  Some personal economic effects of Obama’s new taxation policies include none other than you.  You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc., etc.  With your vote, you have chosen to help others — but not at your expense –
it is unfortunately at our expense.  If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call 202-456-1111.  That is the direct phone number for the White House.  You can also contact the White House here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/
You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote republican.  You said Mr. Obama is going to be the people’s president, and is going to help every American live a better life.  Based on everything you’ve told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I’m sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account.  Have him call me for
the account number which I memorized years ago.
Perhaps you can now understand what I’ve been saying all my life…those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves.  What Obama supporters don’t seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called “less fortunate”)
comes from tax-paying families.
Remember how you told me, “only the richest of the rich will be affected”?  Well guess what, honey?  Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich.  On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world,
we are far from it.  As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper.  You understand what that means, right?  It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less
money, less money for everything, and sadly that includes granddaughters.
I’m sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry.  The free lunches are over.  We have no money to give you now.  So, congratulations on your choice for “change.”  For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have
received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years.  I have not kept track of it, Ashley, because it has all truly been the gift of our hearts, but the comparison might be interesting.
Remember, we love you dearly…but from now on you’ll need to call the number mentioned above.  Your “savior” has the money we would have given to you.  Just try to get it from him.
Good luck, sweetheart.
Love, Grandpa

Stormbringer Gives Some Insight on Benghazi…

May 14, 2013

STILL SPINNING BENGHAZI: LATEST LIES

Ret. CIA Director Gates just tried to dismiss all the Benghazi critics with his take on the limitations of US military capabilities:

Gates: Some Benghazi critics have “cartoonish” view of military capability
Oh R-E-A-L-L-Y-?-?-?  How very I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T-I-N-G for you to say that.  Well I don’t have a “cartoonish” view of the military – having spent a quarter of a century wearing the war suit in Special Forces and maintaining a close professional association with Special Operations units to this day . . .
. . . let’s go through this by the numbers:
“We don’t have a ready force standing by in the Middle East, and so getting somebody there in a timely way would have been very difficult, if not impossible.”
Not exactly true – we had the Commander’s In Extemis Force (CIF) eight hundred miles away on a training mission in Croatia; less than six hours out by C-130. Perhaps not close enough to respond to the initial assault on the Consulate but they certainly could have made a difference during the follow-on fight at the CIA Annex compound.  Closer to the fight, at least four Special Forces operators in Tripoli who were ordered – by somebody – to stand down.
I know about the CIF because that is my old outfit – everywhere we went we were required to bring our go-to-war pallets with full basic load of ammunition. In the event of a terrorist attack on one of the diplomatic missions in our theater, our job was to march to the sound of the guns.  To turn off the standing orders requires a direct order from the National Command Authority – i.e the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary of Defense or the Assistant Secretary of Defense.  One of those four gave the order to stand down, in other words.
Suggestions that we could have flown a fighter jet over the attackers to “scare them with the noise or something,” Gates said, ignored the “number of surface to air missiles that have disappeared from [former Libyan leader] Qaddafi’s arsenals.”
I’m going to throw out the 15-yard Bullshit Flag here; we know that over 6 hours elapsed from the beginning of the attack to when the CIA operators were killed by mortar fire – from a heavy mortar emplacement they had laser target designators on, and had requested air support hours earlier in neutralizing. They had also given higher HQ 8-digit coordinates on the mortars, as close as it gets in combat targeting.  Former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods (who died during the second phase of the attack, on the CIA Annex) were “lazing” enemy mortar position.  They weren’t doing that for the good of their health – they were doing it because they had reason to believe there were air assets overhead; and they were on the phone speaking to somebody, directing them to laze those targets.
Furthermore, Libya does not have Syria’s Anti-Aircraft-Artillery (AAA) defense-in-depth. Sure, there are shoulder-fired man-portable anti-aircraft defense systems (MANPADS) available – but these are inneffective against a couple of fast-movers flying less than 200′ off the deck with their afterburners on.  By the time the zoomies scream on by causing a couple of sonic booms over the bad guys, Hajii would be saying, “Holy Hookah Pipes, what was THAT???”  I have personally seen this tactic defuse an attack on a political target in the Philippines.
“To send some small number of special forces or other troops in without knowing what the environment is, without knowing what the threat is, without having any intelligence in terms of what is actually going on on the ground, would have been very dangerous.  It’s sort of a cartoonish impression of military capabilities and military forces,” he said. “The one thing that our forces are noted for is planning and preparation before we send people in harm’s way, and there just wasn’t time to do that.”
Again, bullshit. We had actionable intelligence live from the battlefield.  Our guys on the ground – to include former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods – were tooling around town between the Consulate and the Annex, and were reporting what they saw. On top of that, we had at least one drone, and various reports mention the presence of an AC-130 gunship – which would explain what Doherty and Woods were doing with the lasers.
The Ultimate Rebuttal:
Gates can say what he wants – one aspect of this entire disgraceful affair that nobody is addressing is the relief-for-cause of General Ham, commander of US Africa Command at Kelly Kaserne in Stuttgart, Germany, the evening of the attack, 11-12 September 2012:
Upon notification the attack in Benghazi was taking place, AFRICOM Commander General Ham immediately notified the CIF unit and communicated to the Pentagon that his forces were ready to deploy.
General Ham then received the order to stand down. His alleged response was screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second-in-command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command.
On October 18 2012, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced:  ”President Barack Obama will nominate Army Gen. David Rodriguez to succeed Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command and Marine Lt. Gen. John Paxton to succeed Gen. Joseph Dunford as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps.”
It is very intriguing that Ham is immediately reassigned less than eighteen months into a three year tour. Maybe Ham attempted to send a reaction force against orders, or maybe he simply gave his chain-of-command a piece of his mind about hanging Americans to dry. At the very least the CIF and whatever other forces were available could have made those who killed our people pay while they were still on the scene.
Analysis:
What I’m seeing here is somebody trotted out former CIA Director Robert Gates, to assist with the mitigation and spin doctoring of BenghaziGate.  Team Obama either has something they’re holding over his head, or – get this – they’re promising him a nice juicy plum.  Say, an ambassadorship in London or Rome or Paris, or maybe even a spot on the ticket with the HildeBeest in 2016.  Think about it; nothing could give Hillary more legitimacy in the area of foreign affairs and national security than to have a Republican former Secretary of Defense, former Director of Central Intelligence as her running partner?
The kind of people who rise to the top of organizations such as the Department of Defense and the CIA are raging egomaniacs – if not during their rise to the top, then certainly after breathing the rarified air at the top.  Dangle a carrot like that in front of them, and a guy like Gates will sell his mother.  Selling out his country is small potatoes, in comparison.
Wnat I’m waiting for is to hear what Petraeus has to say about all this – he testified on Benghazi and spouted the party line, and for his troubles the Obamatrons threw him under the bus.  It will be very interesting to hear what he has to say if they bring him out, the second time around.

Don’t Trust Politicians – They Are All The Same. They Will Not Save America.

May 14, 2013

Put Not Your Trust in Politicians

Posted byDaniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog
Written By Daniel Greenfield
The most obvious lessons of the defeat of gun control and the push for illegal alien amnesty is that politicians don’t matter. People do.
The Tea Party invested its energy into electing the right people, but as Rick Scott and Marco Rubio showed us, there may be no such thing as the right people. Politicians are in the business of selling out. The difference between Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist was that Rubio hadn’t really been tested.
But that doesn’t mean politics is hopeless. It means politicians are hopeless. People however can still force politicians to do the right thing.
The NRA won its fight against gun control even though all the odds, political, financial and emotional, were stacked against it. Politicians had every reason to defect and evolve into a new understanding. And some did. But the ground held because enough of them knew that the NRA was in it for the long term and they would have to deal with it long after Bloomberg had moved on.
In 2012, amnesty and gun control both appeared to be equally unacceptable and were shunned by Republican politicians. If anything they shunned amnesty even harder than gun control. But one election loss later and most of the stalwarts, including Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Paul Ryan have jumped on the amnesty train.
Victor Davis Hanson observes that, “in these divided times ideology and politics can easily trump considerations about character.” But accepting that character doesn’t matter may just be practical politics.
There may be leaders of good character out there who firmly resolve to do the right thing and never waver from their course, but they are the exception and the political system is designed to weed them out.
The self-motivated politician who never wavers is a lot to ask of any man. Even Churchill eventually buckled to Stalin. What can one expect of the senator from Idaho or Virginia?
Politics is not about politicians. It’s about people. Politicians are just the brokers in the political process. The real lesson of the Tea Party is not that you can intervene in a primary for the most conservative candidate and then sit back while he does the right thing, it’s that the only way to get the right thing done is to have an organization that is constantly involved in the political process.
Prohibition, an insane policy, was largely rammed through by a clever and relentless organization that built alliances and forced the issue down the throats of politicians who didn’t agree with it. The same tactics have been used for a variety of causes, including, most recently, gay marriage. In each case, most politicians who did not agree with a cause, came around on it because it was smart politics.
The politician who evolves concedes that he is up for grabs. Evolutionary announcements should be met with contempt, but they also signal that a politician who flips can be made to flop back again. Treating him as if he were an intelligent thinking individual with principles may be a mistake. It may be easier to assume that he has neither principles nor character and that he will go whichever way seems easiest. And the trick then is to reshape his environment so that he evolves into another shape.
For all the complaints that we need leaders, leaders may be the one thing that we do not need. The sort of people that we associate with leaders tend to be self-willed men with their own agendas. Christie and Bloomberg are both leaders, but their version of leadership is to pursue their private agendas without any accountability or regard for anyone else. What we need are not leaders, but organizations that are better at holding politicians accountable.

Hunting for principled politicians is like searching for buried treasure. It’s nice if we find some, but we can’t assume that we will.
The professional politician excels at pretending to have principles and then selling them out. Finding an honest one is like trying to buy a Rolex watch at a folding card table near Times Square. You may get the real deal, but the odds are that you will be ripped off because the people you are dealing with are trained con artists. They have pulled the same scam a thousand times. They are better at reading you than you are at reading them.
What politicians really do is move money around. They push pork for their friends and supporters who then reward them by making sure that they get reelected. It’s a simple financial transaction and any principles can only get in the way of it. They are salesmen for government spending and like all salesmen, they need a pitch strategy because “I’m going to give 10 million dollars of your money to the people who contribute to my campaign and organize groups that support me” is not a winner.
We may have reached the point where it’s smarter to ignore the pitch strategy, the stories, the speaking style, the declaration of principles, the Heritage approved reading list, and reduce everything back to a simple business transaction free of any hero worship or commitments.
It’s not smart for small government conservatives to believe in politicians anyway. If politicians were worth believing in, then one of the main arguments against small government trickles away. If there were a breed of politicians that weren’t hungry for power and able to find the balance between rights and regulations, why shouldn’t we trust them to run things? Such a breed of philosopher-kings doesn’t exist. And will never exist.
Most people, of all factions, rightly hold politicians in contempt and are suspicious of governments. The Tea Party would have done better to keep its distance from politicians, instead of allowing too many of them to wrap themselves in the Tea Party brand. Too much energy was wasted in getting behind politicians, instead of getting on top of them.
“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”was the old Roman question. Who watches the watchmen? Politicians are a poor accountability method. They aren’t going to hold themselves accountable. Trying to play Diogenes hunting for an honest politician in Washington D.C. is an even bigger waste of time. There are hardly any and they may not be the ones you think are.
Politicians are tools. They were meant to be wielded by the people. A good politician understands that he is being held accountable. A bad politician doesn’t. Politicians don’t pay attention to people. They pay attention to organizations. The only way to lock in good behavior by a politician is to lock them into an organization that is capable of rewarding or punishing him.
The organization can’t just be money. There is an entire political class built around activism that consumes money and does nothing. The 2012 campaign should have been an education in that.
The left isn’t just successful because it has billionaires, but because it successfully organizes people. The successful organization of people is the difference between 2010 and 2012. If 2014 and 2016 are going to be any different, it will come down to building organizations that can transform the process.
Single-issue organizations like the NRA can be very effective. So can larger scale organizations. Many of them exist, but what they really require is ground level organizing. Money is cheap. People are hard to come by.
If conservative policies are going to win out, the decentralized conservative presence of the internet is going to have to be more directly leveraged in the real world. The people already exist. Bringing them into play in a structured way is what is missing.
The 2010 elections showed what is possible when the people get involved. And the 2012 elections showed what happens when the political class leaves the people behind. Sometimes the people class can win on its own, but even when it does, its victory, like all political class agendas, is a prelude to another sellout.
Principles can’t come from politicians because politics is now largely an economic transaction. They can only come from people who do not benefit from those government class transactions. The left has built a shadow government of organizations,  but it has done so while linking those organizations to small, but sizable numbers of organizers and activists, who can rally the base. The right will have to duplicate its accomplishments if it doesn’t want to see the politicians that it wastes money and energy electing constantly “evolve” to the left.
Some readers have complained that this blog is too hostile or negative toward Republican politicians. If anything it’s not nearly negative enough. Cheerleading for favorite politicians is a waste of time. The solutions will not come from messiahs in suits. It will come when the number of conservative issues that politicians come to see as the third rail expands beyond gun control. It will come when the professional political infrastructure is contained by a conservative activist infrastructure that is as least as effective and powerful as its counterpart on the left.
It will come when we stop believing in electing the right man and accept that the honest politician is the one who stays bought. It may not be romantic or idealistic, but it is far more practical than waiting for the next Marco Rubio to come around.

Ben Rhodes: Obama’s Fixer Behind The Benghazi Cover-Up

Ben Rhodes: Obama’s Fixer Behind The Benghazi Cover-Up – American Thinker

Barack Obama’s “Tower of Fabrications,” as Peter Wehner describes the Benghazi scandal, is beginning to crack. And that crack will soon reveal a central figure behind the cover-up, a man close to Barack Obama for years but generally unknown to the public: Ben Rhodes.

.

Rhodes has risen from being an obscure and failed fiction writer to formulating foreign and national security policy for Obama precisely because he is willing to his superiors’ bidding regardless of facts. He has a history of using whatever talents he has with the pen to do so.

A few years ago he had drafted the Iraq Study Group report on the causes and mishaps of the Iraq War to focus on Israel – despite the fact that Israel was not part of the scope of the mission the Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group was given. Witnesses and experts called by the Committee were appalled.  Why did Rhodes distort the record? He seemingly was doing the bidding of his masters who have a history of animus towards Israel.  Rhodes had attended Rice University, where the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy is housed; it was headed by Edward Djerejian. Both Baker and his friend Djerejian (a former Ambassador to Syria) have pro-Arab records; criticism of and pressure towards Israel have been hallmarks of their careers.  Both Baker and Djerejian played key roles in choosing whom to hire for the Iraq Study Group and how the work was done.

Rhodes may also just be indulging his own pro-Muslim sympathies. He wrote Obama’s infamous Cairo Speech. That paean to the Muslim world was filled with fulsome praise of Islam that were factually incorrect (Rhodes’ post-graduate education, after all, was in fiction-writing and under Obama he seems to have finally found someone who will pay him for writing fiction).  The speech avoided references to radical Islam and was filled with platitudes about Islam. The speech highlighted a tougher line towards Israel and “credited” that nation’s founding as due to European guilt over the Holocaust (ignoring 5000 years of history).

Rhodes has gone from writing reports and drafting speeches to playing a key role in formulating foreign and national security policy, according to the New York Times. His closeness to Obama – a man known for his aloofness (“he doesn’t like people” says a former aide) has become well-known.

There is a reason Rhodes is close to Obama.

Everyone in power needs a fixer and, according to the latest revelations, Ben Rhodes is Obama’s fixer.

The New “In Thing” – Pimp’n The Dead!

May 3, 2013

It’s The ‘In’ Thing: Pimping The Dead

01 May 2013

by

From NBC News, Kasie* Hunt reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to Google News][emphasis mine]:

WARREN, N.H. – Bringing the national gun debate to a tiny New England town on Tuesday, the daughter of the slain principal of Sandy Hook Elementary confronted Sen. Kelly Ayotte at the lawmaker’s first town hall meeting since she voted against expanded background checks on all commercial gun sales.

Erica Lafferty, who first met with the Republican senator in Washington earlier this month after she opposed the compromise negotiated by Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa., was visibly angry as she spoke into the microphone at the meeting, which drew more than 100 people who came to condemn or support Ayotte’s vote.

You had mentioned that day the burden on owners of gun stores that the expanded background checks would harm. I am just wondering why the burden of my mother being gunned down in the halls of her elementary school isn’t more important than that,” said Lafferty, whose mother Dawn Hochsprung was gunned down by Newtown shooter Adam Lanza.

I heard these remarks on my drive this morning and knew I had to respond to this pathetic display, but Jeff Goldstein beat me to it:

Answer: your mother was gunned down with a weapon stolen by a guy who killed his own mother by shooting her.

And perhaps had someone in the school been armed besides the murderer with the stolen weapon, your mother would still be alive. I know that’s no real comfort, but it has the luxury of being the truth. No extra burden put on law abiding citizens would have stopped that horror from happening. But perhaps had the murderer believed he wasn’t walking in to a turkey shoot, he would have thought twice.

Oh, and pimping out your own dead mother with the object of denying law abiding citizens their natural right to protect themselves — something your mother couldn’t do thanks to laws passed in your state — that’s some sick-in-the-head shit.

Indeed, it is, but that is the state of our Culture these days.

We live in a society where, thanks to the infection of Leftist Thinking, the personal has become political. Using one’s dead loved ones for political purposes is acceptable because this Society values ends more than it does the morality of the means. Nothing is beyond the pale. No behavior is proscribed. Prudence and discretion are seen as negatives.

But the situation is even more complex. American Society is also a Therapeutic Society, where feelings and emotions have been exalted, placed on a shiny pedestal, and where Reason has been delegitimized, where one no longer grieves in private, and where being a victim or related to a victim of crime grants someone expert status is the eyes of their fellow citizens.

Could This Be One Explanation?

American Culture is sick, it may be in grave condition because the minds within it are so poisoned.

For her own sake, for the sake of her sanity, Mrs. Lafferty should withdraw from the public eye and work on overcoming her grief in private and she should contemplate the horror that is her pimping of her murdered Mother.

_ *Enough with the exotic spelling of first names! Enough! One has to wonder if this practice isn’t a small tactic in the effort to undermine and destroy all things Western and especially all things English.

Kansas Has Two Words for Eric Holder: F#*k You.

May 3, 2013

Holder Not Happy With Kansas For Trying To Preserve Second Amendment Rights…

Boo-hoo, Eric.

Via Washington Times:

A new law in Kansas that criminalizes the enforcement of federal gun controls in the state is unconstitutional, Attorney General Eric H. Holder said.

“In purporting to override federal law and to criminalize the official acts of federal officers, [the law] directly conflicts with federal law and is therefore unconstitutional,” Mr. Holder wrote to Gov. Sam Brownback in a letter dated April 26. “Federal officers who are responsible for enforcing federal laws and regulations in order to maintain public safety cannot be forced to choose between the risk of a criminal prosecution by a state and the continued performance of their federal duties.”

Mr. Holder cites the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which says federal law trumps conflicting state authority or exercise of power. Kansas’s law became effective April 25.

Mr. Holder wrote that federal authorities “will continue to execute their duties to enforce all federal firearms laws and regulations. Moreover, the United States will take all appropriate action, including litigation if necessary, to prevent the State of Kansas from interfering with the activities of federal officials enforcing federal law.”
