1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; Joel 2:1
Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith
And I was round when jesus christ Had his moment of doubt and pain Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Isaiah 14:12-14 NKJV
12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
Man has always wanted to be God. Satan or Lucifer, he is called by many names, was the first entity to make the mistake of thinking he could be God. Not like God but God himself. The big man, the main man, the man in charge of everything – controlling his own destiny and the destiny of the entire world. When Lucifer was thrown out of heaven, he was given dominion over this world, because of sin and the fall of man, but not entirely – he can do nothing outside the will and purpose of God.
While listening to the radio the other day, this Stone’s song came on and I began to pay more attention than usual to the lyrics. As I listened, I realized that this song really describes, in modern vernacular, what has transpired through history and up to the present, and who is behind it all. Mick Jagger sings: “I’ve been around for a long, long year /Stole many a man’s soul and faith/
And I was round when Jesus Christ /Had his moment of doubt and pain/Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate.”
Satan’s first order of business, after being unceremoniously thrown from heaven, was to influence people in what he does best – convincing man that either there is no God or if one believes there may be a God – that man is just as smart and man controls his own destiny. Satan has indeed been around for a long time and has stolen many souls along the way. He was the mastermind behind the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and influenced the one human who decided the fate of Jesus – Pontius Pilate. Many people in today’s modern and enlightened world scoff at the idea of a real Devil and even the reality of God. Humanism has taught modern man well that he alone is the master of his own destiny and he is supreme. However if one studies the Bible, they will find, that this line of thinking is vastly different from the order of the universe the Bible describes.
The length of this article does not allow me to go into all of the details of what is going on behind the scenes in the spiritual world but in later articles we will discuss it further. However, in Ephesians 6:12, the Bible tells us:
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
In other words, behind this physical world that we see, there is an unseen world of the spirit, where the powers of evil and good – God and Satan – Righteousness and Unrighteousness – Sin and Redemption, battle for the souls of mankind and the events taking place in the physical realm that we reside in. Satan is described in scripture as the “god of this world” and in 2 Corinthians 4:4 we find:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Spiritual blindness is one of Satan’s greatest tools. He knows that unbelief will prevent people from discovering the truth behind his schemes. That Satan is the man behind the curtain – pulling all the levers of life and keeping them in darkness. In 2 Thessalonians we read of Satan’s grand deception:
2 Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. 2 Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. 3 Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. 4 He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
5 Don’t you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you? 6 And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. 7 For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will kill him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.
9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
This is the present day in which we live. The end times in scripture are referred to as “the day of Christ, and the Day of the Lord. I do not have the space to address all of that here but I will in later articles. I believe that we are living in the last of the “Last Days.” I know many have written and spoken of the last days and the end times ever since the world began but there are many unprecedented events taking place currently, at almost breakneck speed, that have never occurred before. Behind it all – the god of this world – Lucifer himself.
The Bible tells us in James 1:17 that:
17 Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Since this is the case, then we can surmise that every bad and evil “gift” comes from the father of lies which is Satan. Mick Jagger writes that Lucifer was present for the Communist Revolution of 1917 when the Tsar was overthrown and killed and evil reigned in Russia. I don’t suspect that Mick Jagger realized just how true the words of this song are when he says that Lucifer saw it was “time for a change.” Satan has been given a limited authority in this world by God and he is behind the overthrow of governments, deception of dictators, and the death and carnage of war. But ultimately there is a supreme God in heaven who is in control and will have the last word. In Proverbs 21:1 we read:
21. The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; he guides it wherever he pleases.
In other words, God decides what direction a king, president, dictator, and even nations will go. All things are ordered by Him. Acts 17:28 says:
For inhimwelive, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Yes, it was Lucifer who had control over Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler. He rode the tanks, loaded the trains, stoked the ovens, pulled the triggers of execution, dug the pits for mass burial, watched a millions suffered and died. Lucifer is the father of lies and deceit, author of evil, destroyer of men’s souls. And he is alive and well today, contrary to what many educated and enlightened individuals among us may think. We are living in the times spoke of in II Timothy chapter 3 where Paul says”:
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Lucifer is pleased to meet you. But he knows that many of you will simply laugh and scoff at such nonsense as the notion of a “real devil” and give little or no thought to the existence of “God” and the origination of good and evil. That is his greatest weapon – that of unbelief and spiritual blindness. So Lucifer will continue to work and you will never learn the true nature of his game. Until one day it will be too late.
He’s responsible for the deliciously relaxed and understated guitar work you remember from Rainy Night in Georgia and the driving chukka chukka whipsnap that propelled Aretha Franklin’s Rock Steady, as well as her version of Spanish Harlem. And he’s lent his masterful musical sense to many, many other tunes from artists as diverse as Ringo Starr, Archie Shepp, Joe Cocker, Miles Davis and Paul Simon. Guitarist CornellDupreehas died at age 68. Primarily a studio musician, Dupree was more often heard than seen, but you can catch some glimpses of his Southern-fried six-string artistry on this live version of King Curtis’ Memphis Soul Stew. See The Video of him performing Live with King Curtis above this post.

And The Darkness Did Not Comprehend The Light
John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Who Will Stand In The Gap?
Ezekiel 22:30
30And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
The Midnight Watch and Warning
Ezekiel 33
The Watchman and His Message
1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 3 when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, 4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’
7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me
