John 14:27 KJV

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

These are trying and troubling times that we live in today, yet Jesus says do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. If you listen to the news you will experience a never ending stream of bad news that seems to offer no hope or reason to be optimistic. If Jesus’ statement would have been left to stand alone, then we would have had nothing to place our confidence in as to how this was to be accomplished. But Jesus prefaced those words with, “Peace I leave with you…not as the world gives.” There is an inner peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ that will anchor and sustain you internally even though all hell may be breaking out around you. The secular world cannot give this peace. It cannot be purchased or conjured up through potions or magic. It comes only from God and is available to anyone who comes and asks. In Matthew 11:28 Jesus issues an invitation – 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

It is up to you to come and receive Christ’s peace that will guard your heart and keep it free from fear and trouble.
